I liked how he and Ingrid fell in love and how he was so loyal to her even when she didn’t remain as loyal to him and his family.
I really liked CeCe’s personality and I loved her relationship with both Joel and Ingrid. It made the story, as a whole, feel a little lighter because it felt like CeCe was alive for many parts of it. I really liked how there was a book within this book that helped us understand the friendship between Ingrid, Joel, and CeCe. This story deals heavily with grief and how people deal with their grief in different ways. I never read back blurbs, so I had no idea what this story was about when I started reading it. I love Nicole Deese’s stories, so I have been looking forward to reading The Words We Lost for awhile now.
